Yongning WU

Professor Dr Yongning WU is Chief Technical Officer of the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA), and Chief Scientist of China National Expert Committee on Food Safety Risk Assessment. Dr WU graduated from Nanjing Medical College in 1983, then from Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine for Ph D degree in Public Health in 1997. He is Director of Food Safety Research Unit of Chinese Academy of Medical Science (2019RU014), the Director of NHC Key Laboratory of Food Safety Risk Assessment, head of WHO Collaborating Center of Food Contamination Monitoring (China), fellow of International Academy of Food Science and Technology, vice-president of Chinese Society of Toxicology.

Dr. WU serviced as members of WHO Technical Advisory Group for Food Safety, FAO/WHO Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA), and Roster of Dietary Exposure Assessment of Chemical in Food. He was members of Scientific Committee of Food Safety Commission of the State Council of China, National Food Safety Risk Assessment Committee of China. As the director of food contaminate subcommittee of the China Reviewing Committee on National Food Safety Standards and the head of Chinese delegate of Codex Committee on Contaminants in Food, he is involved in drafting the food safety standards for food contaminants.


Zongwei Cai

Prof. Zongwei Cai graduated from Xiamen University, China in 1982 with a B.Sc. degree and University of Marburg , Germany in 1990 with a Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry. He worked in University of Nebraska, USA as a post-doc from 1991-93 and Research Assistant Professor from 1994-96. He was appointed as an Associate Professor from 2001-05; Professor from 2005-10; and Chair Professor since 2010 in the Department of Chemistry, Hong Kong Baptist University. Currently he is Kwok Yat-Wai Endowed Chair of Environmental & Biological Analysis, Director of Dioxin Analysis Laboratory, and Director of State Key Laboratory of Environmental and Biological Analysis. 

The major research interest of Prof. Cai is method development and applications of mass spectrometry for trace analysis of environment and biological compounds in complex matrices.
